McMurray Stern – Scholarship Opportunity

For the 2018 Spring Semester, McMurray Stern Inc. will be offering a $500 scholarship to a student who writes a winning essay regarding their future career and educational objectives in industrial engineering.

McMurray Stern is a local, woman-owned contractor specializing in the planning, design, and implementation of storage, workspace, and records management solutions. As a Class B general contractor, McMurray Stern is a comprehensive service provider with the ability to deliver turn-key workspace, custom shelving, lockers, racking and office storage solutions.

 

Requirements

In a brief narrative (500 words or more), please describe the most applicable and meaningful takeaways from your industrial engineering education so far. Expand on your thoughts with a discussion of your future career goals such as professional roles, workplaces, or accomplishments you are striving for. Graphic or creative presentations are welcome as well.

Judging Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who best demonstrates a genuine desire and goal of using the scholarship to advance in their industrial engineering related fields, and an overall passion for knowledge.

Scholarship Dates and Submission

Deadline:The deadline for submitting essays is January 1, 2018.
You may send us your entry either as a link or attachment to your email. Include your name, mobile phone number and contact information in the email.

Eligibility

To be eligible for our scholarship contest, you must be: a legal US resident, and either a current (1) student at an accredited U.S.College or University, or (2) an undergraduate student who has applied or will apply to a U.S. College or University to further education in the industrial engineering field. Students with full academic scholarships are not eligible to enter this contest.

Proof of enrollment must be provided. We will accept digital scans of the following as a valid proof of enrollment via email attachment with your application:

  • Unofficial transcript (Applicant must submit by mail or email a copy of official transcripts if elected as a finalist).
  • Letter from Admissions confirming deposit on school letterhead
  • Official enrollment verification form
  • Acceptance letter on school letterhead

Additionally, you must:

  • Verify you have read and understand the McMurray Stern Scholarship requirements
  • Submit a readable copy of your entry (only one entry per student is allowed).

Your application must be completed no later than the January 1, 2018 deadline. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Winner Notification

The winner will be notified by phone, email and/or U.S. mail after the judging has been completed.

Award Distribution

The $500 award will be paid to the winner by February 1, 2018. Students must provide proof of enrollment prior to disbursement of the award.

Use of Award Monies

The award winner understands and represents that the scholarship monies will be sent directly to the winner’s school and shall be used only for education-related purposes, such as tuition, books, etc.

By submitting an application, the applicant grants McMurray Stern Inc., its agents and/or representatives permission to post the applicant’s name, school or university, applicant’s photo, and the winning entry in the company’s website: www.mcmurraystern.com and in other marketing platforms, including but not limited to blog, social media accounts, and related sites. The winning applicant also agrees to assist McMurray Stern Inc. and its agents with any tasks that the company deems reasonable or necessary to help with the above and other promotional activities.
